Cassava (Manihot esculenta) is a hot-climate root vegetable grown for its starchy, tuberous roots, which are white on the inside. With a nutty, mildly sweet flavour, the roots are peeled and cooked similar to potatoes and used in dishes such as fries, stews, and flour. Red-stemmed cassava also doubles as a hardy ornamental shrub. Best grown in full sun or part shade, it reaches around 2 metres tall.
Supplied as an established plant in a 140mm or 200mm pot.
