Star Fruit (Carambola)
Carambola (Star Fruit) tree. Currently about 70cm high strong tree, ready to plant in your garden. A star fruit tree can give you 2 crops per year (winter and summer harvest). Grows 4m high and fruits 2 years after planting. Best in a mostly sunny position with good soil and mulch. Green Star Fruit can be chopped and added to savoury dishes (with chilli etc.) for example in culturally important dishes for in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesian style cooking. When fully ripened to yellow they are sweet and delicious eaten fresh.
