Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia nicolai)

Also known as the White Bird of Paradise, Strelitzia nicolai is an evergreen plant with broad, banana-like leaves and white and blue flowers. When grown in a pot indoors it typically reaches around 1.5 m, while plants grown in the ground can reach 4 to 6 m. It grows best in full sun to part shade, prefers well-drained soil, and requires regular watering, particularly during warmer months. It is commonly used outdoors as a screening plant or structural feature in tropical and subtropical gardens.
